Snoring. It's something we all grow up knowing about. Granddaddies snore after Thanksgiving dinners.

Maybe you are the snorer, maybe you live with one. It doesn't require much more effort than falling asleep. And we all sleep.

What is not so obvious though, is WHY people snore.

How do you really know if you have love handles? Just give yourself a pinch at your waist. If you find yourself pinching

Getting rid of love handles is not just a matter of doing a couple of exercises. You can lose the flab, but it's going to
take some time. The accumulated fat area around the waist is the last area your body will pay attention to losing. It's also
the toughest area to target for losing this fat.

These two love handle exercises are going to involve targeting the oblique muscle areas. The oblique muscle group is the
waist area.

Twist crunches targets your obliques and abs, and is very effective. They basically put a twist to a normal sit-up.
1. Lie on your back with your knees slightly bent.
2. With your hands behind on your head, lift your head slowly.
3. Bring your left elbow to your right knee, twisting your body to your right. At the same time extend your left leg.
4. Repeat this step, but twisting to your left.
5. Do twenty repetitions daily.

Take a moment for a sip of water, and let your muscles recover from the abrupt awakening. When you are ready; move on to
the next exercise.

Another good exercise that targets the obliques is the Standing Trunk Twist.
1. Stand up with your feet about a foot apart, knees slightly bent.
2. Twist your upper body to the right, at the same time crossing your right arm out in front of you in the same direction
you are turning. Keep your feet still during the whole exercise.
3. Repeat, twisting to the left.
4. Repeat this action 100 times daily.

The Twist Crunches and the Standing Trunk Twists are excellent when you want to strengthen and tone your love handle area.
Combining these to exercises with your daily exercise regimen you will soon lose your love handles.

It's important to combine your exercise program with an aerobic workout. This will boost your metabolism and burn off the
fat. A 30 minute daily cardio program, combined with the love handle exercises will really help you lose the rolls of fat
bulging over your belt.

It's also important to include a proper, balanced diet of fresh fruits, vegetables, lean meats and whole grains into

No ice-cream. The trouble with ice-cream is it is in the freezer for you to eat. Every time you open the freezer it is there looking at you, what else is there to do but eat a bowl every night. My advice is to lose weight the healthy way. It still will not be easy but eating many fruits and vegetables will help you preserve your willpower and you will lose weight without starving yourself. At some point life gets easer, your new way of eating is normal to you and you are not trying to lose the weight, you are just doing weight control. Weight control is much easer because you do not need to lose it, you just need to keep it off.

A 12-pound hawksbill turtle crawled up to die on a wind torn beach. An autopsy showed that half of its weight was plastic. Its stomach and intestines were filled with multi-colored beads, part of a comb, two golf tees, a toy wheel, rope, balloon, part of a plastic bottle, a plastic toothpaste cap, the top of a plastic medical syringe, baggies, and a plastic flower.* Its contents were carb-free, but had no nutritional value. Apart from the environmental and ecological travesties associated with the turtle's poor dietary choices, this unfortunate incident speaks to the message we have been sharing with you.

We invite you to 'get over' lugging around plastic thoughts and attitudes like the plastic mush in the turtle's stomach before it sends you crawling up on beaches of convention instead of soaring up mountains of enlightenment.

This 'Get Over It' message is based on the book by the same title. It is designed to help you move from plastic to platinum in your thinking - from blind obedience to conventional thinking to the unlimited openness and joy of transformational thinking.

The phrases we're inviting you to 'get over' in this article usually come as a pair. They are: "Birds of a feather stick together" and "opposites attract."

We're going to give you a bird's eye view of these assumptions which we believe are flying out of formation. These two phrases, we think you'll agree, have been winging it for some time.

The "birds of a feather stick together" phrase has been around a long time. It has been in use since at least the mid 16th century. It first appeared in 1545 in William Turner's rendition of his papist satire The Rescuing of Romish Fox: "Byrdes of one kynde and color flok and flye allwayes together."

No such origin can be found for "opposites attract." However its origin may be closer than we think. It is actually a social science concept called "common belief factor."

It originates from the word "heterocentrism." "Hetero" is the Greek word for "different."Centre" is Greek for "centered on" or "drawn toward." To use a similar analogy, a "heliocentric" plant, like a sunflower, is one that grows toward or is drawn to the sun.

It reminds us why we are no longer absolute vegans. It seemed that whenever we sat in a chair near the window we started leaning toward the light.

So, something which is "heterocentric" is the result of two or more UNLIKE things that are magnetized towards each other.

Do opposites attract? Do birds of a feather flock together? What does the current research literature tell us about that? In one of the most comprehensive studies ever undertaken on these questions, researchers at the University of Iowa found

Before we share their findings if you are looking for the perfect soulmate or business colleague you may want to read this very carefully. Researchers at the University of Iowa found that we tend to hang around people who are similar in attitudes, interests, philosophy, religion, and values.

However, it is the complementary nature of our personalities that seems to be more important in maintaining enduring and happy relationships. Those similarities include character traits like: assertiveness, introversion and extroversion, compassion, even-temperedness, sense of humor, and so on. Other than that nothing is definitive. The concepts of 'birds of a feather flocking together' or 'opposites attracting' seem to boil down to one thing: the power of choice.

There is no automatic, incontrovertible, mindless magnetism that pulls people together. If that sounds like fowl language we invite you to consider the fact that in order for these two sayings to be absolute sayings they would have to be true in all circumstances.

People who are the same don't always do things with each other. Opposites aren't always attracted to each other. We decide with whom we flock, herd, swim, swarm, or hibernate.

I first heard about foot detox a couple years ago, and since then I've been curious about the claims that an foot detox can remove toxins from your body. I live in a major metropolitan area (Chicago), so I'm well aware that I'm not breathing clean air or drinking pure water. I'm also honest with myself about the fact that the processed food I regularly eat isn't doing me any favors.

I'm not willing to eat 100% healthy all the time (I love Chicago pizza too much) or move to the mountains near a freshwater spring (though that does sound really nice), but if there's technology that can help keep my body optimally healthy, I'm interested in learning more. Fortunately, it's easy to research "detox foot bath" online since there are 1000s of websites that talk about it. Unfortunately, there's two extreme viewpoints that make it difficult to get a balanced opinion about the subject.

On one end you have the companies who sell foot detox equipment or provide it as a service. The longstanding claim of these folks is that the color change that happens during a detox foot bath indicates the part of the body that is being detoxified. On the other end, you have the people who understand some of the science behind this technology, but they unscientifically dismiss all of the many health benefit claims from people who use it. These two opposing sides aren't paying any attention to each other, which results in confusion for the people who just want to know the truth about this subject.

I want to highlight a basic fact here in an effort to bring some balance to this issue of foot detox. The fact is that the water in a detox foot bath will change color whether a person's feet are in the water or not. The cynics have taken this fact as case-closed proof that foot detox offers no health benefits whatsoever, while ignoring the many health benefit claims from the people who use it. The people who sell detox foot bath units have been saying for years that the color change of the water indicates of the part of the body that's being detoxified. Both viewpoints are wrong (mostly).

The cynics who understand that oxidation of the metal array accounts for the immediate color change in a foot detox draw the premature conclusion that the entire thing is snake oil and anyone who claims to have health benefits is only experiencing the placebo effect. This is a lazy approach to scientific research because these people are ignoring many health benefit claims that go beyond what the placebo effect is capable of.

I'm not an expert on how a foot detox works, but I've done enough research to know that many people are experiencing health benefits that go far beyond what the placebo effect is capable of. Just this week I spoke with a woman who found a hookworm in her foot detox water after a treatment! I've spoken with smokers whose water smells strongly of smoke odor. I'm willing to admit that some of the many claims of pain relief can be attributed to the placebo effect, but parasites and strong smoke odors aren't in your head, they're real.

I recently met a woman who has been providing ionic foot baths to hundreds of people. She told me about the many health benefits her clients have received, and the many doctors who have been mystified by the recoveries their patients have experienced after receiving foot detox treatments.

I'm convinced that most people doing a foot detox are getting something more than just the placebo effect, but I still have an issue with the whole color-of-the-water=the-part-of-the-body-being-detoxed claim. If you've done a foot detox then you know that the water starts to turn brown almost immediately. This is due to oxidation of the metal array in the water. I've talked with dozens of people and most of them have the same color water as me - brown, the color of rust. Water analysis done by a laboratory has confirmed a significant increase in iron. But there's more to the story. The water starts out brown, but for many people, the water will eventually turn other colors, such as white, green or black. That's definitely not rust, so what is it?

The popular color chart used by most ionic foot bath providers says that brown water indicates "liver detoxification, cellular debris and tobacco detoxification", but there's no way I'm going to believe that my liver starts shooting toxic debris out of my feet a few seconds after starting an ionic foot bath. I've never smoked so that's not a factor. Several labs have done water analysis and found high levels of iron in the water, so I'm confident in my conclusion about what's causing the water to turn brown - oxidation of the metallic array.

I've talked with dozens of people who regularly use adetox foot bath and most of them have the same color water as me - brown, the color of rust. Now to be fair, not everyone has the same color water, which is why I'm open to there being some truth to the idea that the color indicates the part of the body being detoxed, but the fact remains that many of the proponents of foot detox are ignoring basic chemistry and undermining their credibility in the process.

However, in 2002, Doctor's Data, Inc., a laboratory in St. Charles, IL, did a before and after water analysis of an ionic foot bath and found significant increases in antimony, arsenic, copper, lead, uranium, barium, cadmium, chromium, nickel, aluminum, iron, manganese and zinc in the detox foot bath that had feet in it compared to the water that had no feet. The increase in heavy metals had to come out of the feet, proof positive that there's more to this story than simple oxidation of metal.

Another matter that unsimplifies the cynic's conclusion is that the woman who had the hookworm come out during her ionic foot bath told me her water usually turns black, even though her husband who uses the same unit always has brown water. Is this issue cut and dry? Hardly. Clearly, there's more to this matter that warrants further research.

I totally understand the economy as being the main focal point in everyone's minds lately, but it would be a much better thing to see the Presidential Candidates pay a little more mind to the health insurance crisis in our nation.

It may come as a shock to know that, in the last 18 months, insurance premiums have doubled. What is worse is that more and more Americans are going without insurance, because they cannot afford it. This means more Americans are not getting the health care they need.

This however, does not mean that they don't get sick. They get ill and when they do they stay sick until either the illness takes care of itself or it gets so bad that they wind up having to be rushed to the emergency room. So let's say they start out with a cold, but due to lack of care it escalates to pneumonia. Well, it is costing a lot more to treat that person for pneumonia in the emergency room then it would have been to monitor their cold at a doctor's office.

We need comprehensive insurance coverage for all Americans and we need to stop allowing the insurance companies to determine what fees are reasonable and customary. It just seems to me that for the amount of time you actually spend with a doctor when you have an office visit that the cost is way too much for what you are getting.

At this point, Americans need to re asses and rebuild our health care system. Whether that means everyone has the same insurance plans or that we retain our individual plans and restructure our system, I am not sure. I am only sure of the need for a change.

Even if you are unlucky enough to have heart disease in your family, it does not mean that you have to accept it as a given that heart disease is inevitable. Nevertheless the point is not whether you are a man or woman - though that does obviously affect your heart disease risks. The issue is more of the increase in heart disease risk in relation the increase in the amount of years you have been alive. The longer you have been around on this planet the shorter your chances of getting heart problems become. This is because many of the other risk factors increase with age - risk that you will need to be aware of.

Smoking is the biggest (and most preventable) cause of death from coronary heart disease. If you smoke 20 cigarettes per day then you have double the risk of heart disease than someone who doesn't smoke. And the risks get higher as the daily cigarette count gets higher. The fact is if you smoke then you pretty much amplify the danger of all the other heart disease risk factors combined. It's a domino effect and the consequences could be very serious.

Are Registered Massage Sessions covered by OHIP?

All different types of massage can be beneficial in helping with many different types of aches and ailments. Sports massage, deep tissue massage and therapeutic massage can reduce back and neck pain, relieve stress and speed up the recovery process after surgeries and injuries, but without medical coverage the burden of cost can be too much for some patients to be able to afford.

Will I be Covered?

This is a common question because of the fact that massages can be so beneficial, but also so expensive. Unfortunately, the short answer seems to be that most registered massage sessions will not be covered by OHIP.

There are potentially some cases where massage may be covered, but there are some very specific requirements that must be met in order for the patient to be eligible for coverage: factors like the age of the patient, the nature of the injury being treated and whether or not the clinic administering the massage is registered as a designated physiotherapy clinic.

What's the Difference between Physiotherapy and Massage?

A hundred years age there wasn't a great deal of difference between a physiotherapist and a licensed sports massage therapist - both provided an almost identical rehabilitant service, but today's licensed physiotherapist actually use very little, if any massage, techniques in their treatment and rehabilitation of injuries and ailments.

In the past, sessions with a licensed sports massage therapist would very likely have been covered in full, but with recent changes to coverage under OHIP, coverage only pertains to a limited number of sessions with a designated physiotherapy clinic under the guidelines of eligibility.

Who's Covered?

With the new rules of coverage in place, in most cases, any patient over the age of sixty five or under the age of nineteen that needs physiotherapy sessions will have coverage up to a predetermined number of sessions. All residents of long term care facilities or nursing homes, regardless of age, who require physiotherapy will have coverage up to a pre determined amount of sessions in a calendar year; and anyone needing physiotherapy sessions in their home after having been hospitalized, regardless of age, will be covered up to a pre determined number of sessions.

Under these new rules, anyone not currently living in a long term care facility or anyone not having been recently hospitalized, between the ages of nineteen and sixty four, will not be covered for any massage or physiotherapy sessions, even if the physiotherapy clinic is on the designated list on the OHIP website.

Therapeutic, sports, hot stone and shiatsu massage can all bring with them a host of benefits to the recipient, unfortunately very few if any of these sessions are eligible for coverage by the government under the news policies of the OHIP. Of course, residents are still more than welcome to participate in sessions by any licensed massage therapist, but in doing so they should be prepared to pay for the services out of their own pocket, without the hope of reimbursement from the government.

For the person just starting out, dips are one of the best exercise choices. These exercises are great not only for your triceps, but also for the pectorals in your chest and the deltoids in your shoulders. In order to place the stress on your triceps there are a few tips you need to know. First of all, dipping should be performed between two bars parallel to each other. The best starting position is like you are standing up with two bars in your hands.

You need to hold the bars tightly so you won't slip. To start, you have to squat with your arms against your sides and your torso as erect as you can hold it. Leaning forward can concentrate stress on your shoulder and chest muscles, which isn't necessarily a bad thing, but you should save it for when you're exercising your chest muscles.

Good advice. Don't lock out at the top. To allow the triceps muscles to relax, completely straighten and lock your arms. If you are unable to perform dips using your body weight, try an assisted dip apparatus that utilizes counter-balanced weights to counter your own weight. If your gym doesn't have one, get a spotter to push up on your feet to help you out. Doing three to ten repetitions to start with should be your aim.

A close-grip bench press is similar to dips, as it involves a compound movement. The movement is similar to regular bench press. Make sure you grip the bar with your hands around 8 to 12 inches apart. Grip where you feel comfortable, paying close attention to how your wrists feel. To alleviate stress on your wrists, start your grip with a 12 inch spacing and work your way closer as you get more comfortable.

Keeping your elbows in close at your sides, lower the bar to just below nipple level. You don't need to extend your arms all the way out either. You should stop just short of full lockout. This is an excellent exercise for adding mass in your triceps.

The arms are probably one of the most often trained body parts, other than chest, in most gyms today. Guys will work them to death because they want the sleeves of their shirts to fit a little tighter. It gives them a sense of confidence and the females obviously like a guy with huge guns popping out of his shirt.

Today, I will tell you how to exercise your biceps, which is actually two muscles that are connected at your elbow, and run up and under your shoulder muscle.

Barbell or EZ-curl bar standing curls are the most basic exercises. Try to stand with either a straight bar or EZ-curl bar with your feet shoulder width apart. You need to take an underhand grip about shoulder width apart also. I recommend you use a mirror to make sure wrists, elbows and shoulders are always properly positioned in a straight line through out the move.

A great was to start is with the bar full extended then raise the bar up to your chin by curling your arms up but keep your elbows still. To reach maximum contraction, flex your biceps at the peak of the movement. You must keep your wrist locked all the time otherwise if you let your wrist bend, this can easily hurt you. This is the main exercise for building mass in the biceps. Put this exercise at the beginning of your routine, using heavy weights. Its best to always warm up with a lightweight for one or two sets before going heavy.

I recommend doing Alternate Standing Dumbbell Curls second because you can still use heavy weight. This exercise will really add to the rounded shape that you want in your biceps.

Only one difference in technique occurs between this method and bar curls. At the motion's pinnacle, rotate your hand in such a way that your pinky finger is positioned higher than your thumb. Try practicing it with no resistance. This is what will give you that extra peak that all the pros have. Its not easy to do, but, it will tighten your abs so much your friends will envy you.

If you really want to isolate the muscles in your arms and give them a real workout, try the Preacher Bench Curls with an EZ-Bar. You will notice you aren"t as strong as you would like to be in this exercise if you are isolating your biceps. If the first two sets of reps have been completed properly, you will feel muscle fatigue.

Position yourself with your chest against the bench and drape your arms over the angled pad. Grab the EZ curl bar with an underhand grip. Curl the weight up and contract your biceps as hard as you can. Lower slowly, being careful not to let the bar stress your elbows at the bottom of the movement. This exercise will place added stress on your lower biceps area.

So let's say that 5 overweight people buy "The Diet for Overweight People." Clearly these are all "fat people." They all belong to the "fat people group", right? So this diet is perfect for each and every one of them, right?

* Sheila is overweight because she eats a lot of meat and dairy products from producers that make use of growth hormones to fatten up the livestock. Sheila is unaware that this is also fattening her up!

"Fat people" is a group made up of individual people, each struggling with their personal version of overweight. This is a fact. And in light of this fact, there can be no "perfect diet for fat people."

For some time my wife and I were involved in research on student with reading disabilities. Our interest was to determine the relationship between reading disabilities and stress. Using a self-report pencil and paper test, we measured the stress of a group of nine-year-old students. To our great relief, there was no significant relationship between stress levels and reading disability. So there was no need for us to worry about stress relief programs.

Do you think it would be reasonable for you to measure your stress levels? You want to relieve your stress? Do you think your results would be accurate using a self-report instrument? The answer is - 'Yes'. You can measure your own stress levels just as easily and reliably as you can tell a psychologist how well you feel, your level of depression and anxiety and so on. When people start to understand themselves and become attuned to the variations in their 'wellness', they CAN report reliably. After all, emotional well-being is a person and subjective business, isn't it?

If you did want a relatively objective measure of your stress you could ask a medical professional to do a urine analysis. Blood analysis is also another way of measuring the cortisol in your system. There seems to be substantial evidence that cortisol levels increase with psychological stress. There is little doubt that as your stress levels rise, there are increases in physiological responses too. These include elevated heart rate, blood pressure, flushing, skin changes and so on. For many people there are also headaches and even migraines and associated aura.

If you want to find out about your stress levels you can use online testing. Unfortunately, there is no guarantee that these tests are reliable. I use a structured self-report system to measure my patients' stress. I need to be able to keep track of stress changes with my patients so measure them several times over several months. To know if my stress relief therapy is effective I need frequent measures.

When some people are stressed, they report that they can't sleep, have wild mood swings, feel physically ill, upset, worried and distracted. If you looked carefully at their emotional and physical reactions you can see they fit into four different patterns. These are physiological and physical responses, cognitive or thinking changes, interpersonal variations, and emotional responses.

It is important to understand your levels of stress. Stress relief therapy is much more effective when people are able to track and measure their stress responses. Stress is a silent killer and the enemy of well-being. High stress levels, burnout, and being overstressed are all counter-productive emotional states. When stress is constant and severe it is very disabling. If one wants to have an effective stress relief program, one needs to know how to measure and respond to stress. My stress relief therapy incorporates 15 effective strategies. What makes the exercise challenging is choosing the most effective stress relief strategies. Neither me nor my patients want to have lives are characterized by excessive stress.

One of the odd things about stress is that we tend to create relationship problems because we are tense, anxious and worried. The sad part of this is that the best form of stress relief is social support. Being able to share our feelings with a friend or loved one reduces stress and tension. And this costs nothing. A trouble shared is often a trouble halved. Of course sometimes the issues are much more difficult to manage. A good case in point is the current problems many people are experiencing in regard to home loans and mortgage foreclosures. These and other more serious stressors require professional help.

How a Son Reveals His Body Type Exercises to a Proud Mom

How You Can Remove a Judgment from Your Credit Report

Judgments are also called default judgments or credit card judgments. These terms all have the same meaning.

You are legally responsible to pay back a debt. This has happened in a court of law.

The lender went to court and filled a lawsuit against you and won their case. This will give the lender legal grounds to have your wages garnished to repay this debt.

This is a very bad mark to have on your credit and will cause your credit score to be lowered. Often collection agencies will try and win a judgment. Judgments can happen with any form of unsecured debt.

This mark will stay on your credit for 7 - 10 years dependent upon the state that court was held in, and the statute of limitations in that state. However it is common for creditors to renew judgments.

This can make it impossible to ever get out from under a judgment. However you can have a judgment removed from your credit, sometimes without having to pay the debt.

I would first suggest creating a dispute letter. In this letter you identify the judgment listing and explain the reason it is not accurate and mail it to the credit bureaus.

The bureaus will then hold an investigation. They will try and verify the debt and the amount of the debt with the lender or collection agency.

If the debt is not verified or found to be inaccurate then the bureau must remove the mark from your credit report. Often investigations result in a mark being erased.

However judgments are more often verified, this is because the lender has taken steps to ensure repayment. This usually means you will not be able to remove the mark.

However in some instances a judgment is wrong and inaccurate. Thus it should legally be removed from your credit.

This is when I recommend a credit attorney. They will be able to use their expert knowledge and when necessary go to court to prove that the judgment is not right and should be removed.

Basically, feng and shui mean wind and water, two things that in China are thought to bring good fortune. In English, anything that brings good fortune has started to be called 'good feng shui' and anything that discourages good fortune, 'bad feng shui;' which must sound very strange to any Chinese speakers who hear it. Some Taoist practitioners in China 3,000 years ago started creating some ideas about how to design a home, or a pick a grave site, or build a government building in ways that all the things that would bring good fortune would be included.

Originally, this theory had nothing to do with the inside of a building and everything to do with what direction the exterior door faced, whether there was a river, or a mountain, or geographic point of interest in the area, and the architecture of the building. (Relatively) recently, a new school of thought developed in feng shui, called the black hat school. The black hat school of feng shui takes the philosophy and world view of classic feng shui, and moves it inside the house.

Placement is the issue. Placing bamboo near your property was said to encourage prosperity. Therefore, the black hat school propagated the idea of having a small bamboo tree in the house or in any room. Has Obama or McCain Spent More on Advertising Health Reform?

Someone has posed an thought provoking question- Does the Presidential Candidate who spends more money on advertising their health plan equal the one who cares most about it? If you answered yes to this question, then the candidate who qualifies for this would be Barack Obama.

Senator Obama has spent a staggering $113 million for advertising his health care plan on television, equaling 192,000 commercials in total for the year, reported Politico. Even more, Obama has spent 68 percent of his total advertising budget on health care. This month alone, the Obama campaign increased spending to 86 percent of the total budget.

Those numbers, in a word, dwarf the spending by Senator John McCain's campaign. Senator McCain only could muster 11,300 commercials for health insurance reform this year - and he only spent $261,000 this month promoting his health reform plan on TV. In fact, Obama's total spending on health care is $29 million more than McCain's total bank roll for the entire campaign.

We are wondering if Obama's spending has results to back it up. A Kaiser Health Tracking Poll shows that 54 percent of voters agree with Obama on the topic of health insurance. Only 25 percent agree with McCain's. Obviously, Obama has more of an edge here.

While this shows that Obama is indeed focused on health care reform, it doesn't mean he care more than McCain does. Obama has much more money to spend on whatever he wishes. In September alone he raised $150 million! That is outrageous. McCain has $84 million in total to spend for the entire General Election. It is no wonder Obama is dominating the television commercials.

Our Stone Age ancestors managed to craft the bed before creating the mattress. The first mattresses were probably piles of leaves or straw that were piled on top of platform beds, and there is some thought that they were covered with animal hides to be more comfortable. The first water beds occurred in Persia, when goatskins were filled with water, while during the days of the Ancient Egypt, palm boughs were heaped up in the homes of the poor, while the rich got to enjoy significantly more comfortable fare. In time, mattresses became bags filled with soft stuffing.

It would not be until the European Renaissance and the subsequent centuries that the modern bed would come into being. The practice of stuffing mattresses with cotton or wool took shape, as did covering the mattresses with linen or cotton coverings. This must have been a significant improvement in comfort. The modern spring bed would not be invented in Massachusetts until 1855. Ten years later, the steel coil for the bed came into common usage. As you can see, the mattress has a long and venerable history, even if it took a while before it really arrived to a point that we would want to sleep in!

Before committing to a bed, take it for a test drive. Wear shoes that are easy to slip off and head to the nearest mattress warehouse. Can stress cause hives like chemicals can?

Attention. If you've got hives bad enough that your tongue and mouth are bigger or if you can't seem to catch, get to a doctor immediately! Also, if hives persist longer than seven days or so, go see your doctor.

Some people describe hives as little nests of bees under the skin. The little bumps can change location from time to time and they do itch like crazy. They are accumulations of fluid under the skin caused by leakages from blood vessels caused by chemical imbalances in the body.

Most people know what causes their little bumps. They know that when they eat a radish, they will end up resembling one.

Some causes of hives are hard to pinpoint. Some skins react to hot or cold air with an itchy rash. Everyday chemicals are sometimes the culprits. Even some pets may trigger an attack or that little growth on the tree next door.

The skin is the largest organ in the body, and it is very sensitive. Stress is known to alter our internal chemistry, and can cause a hormonal imbalance. So, yes, stress can cause hives.

In some people, one of the symptoms of anxiety attacks is itchiness. Stress and anxiety cause the body to produce chemicals called cortisol and adrenaline. An intestinal peptide known as VIP may also be produced. An overabundance of these chemicals is thought to cause an imbalance in the body's hormones, thus triggering an outbreak of hives.

Chronic hives (those that last longer than 6 weeks) can be caused by fatigue and stress. If those things caused it in the first place, the itching is not likely to go away quickly.

Fortunately, there are many treatments for hives, some of which are really very effective. Chronic hives are usually pretty hard to find the cause of, though. Even experts can't always find the cause.

What to do when the bumps start? Take a cool shower. Hot water will trigger faster production of histamines which will turn you into an itchy bump factory.

Hives that are caused by stress need two kinds of medication. One is an antihistamine to drain the bumps and another is an antidepressant to help the patient relax. One drug often prescribed is Doxepin. If it appears that the hives are one of the signs of clinical depression for the patient, other medications will be in order.

The itchiness is the same, no matter what caused it so it is really hard sometimes to identify what triggered it. Perhaps it is a mixture of stress and chemicals in your environment.

Experts recommend keeping a diary of your surroundings when an episode begins. Note everything, the time of day, any food additives that might be around, any stresses and the location. Make a note of any new foods or chemicals like cologne that you are in contact with. It's also important to note how long the episode lasts.

Your doctor knows that sometimes hives are the first sign of other, deeper disease so make sure to checked out when the itching begins. Don't let the little red bumps camouflage something else.

Your body will yearn for the time to enjoy all that you have gained. Give it what it wants and learn to budget your day into nice little packets.

Let yourself decide the level of fitness you want to enjoy, not Madison Avenue. You decide how stress affect your overall health. Learn to schedule your life so that fun is the number one priority.

All these skills are available to you, easily and with little effort on your part. Truly, make an effort on developing these key skills in yourself and enjoy the ride to heights you have never imagined possible!
