Getting Great Pectoral Muscles

There are a number of exercises that are designed to give you the great chest muscles that you want. You will find that your pecs are an important part of enhancing the look of your chest. If you want to build the muscles in this area, it is important that you work with weights with a few simple exercises.

The seated chest press is a good place to begin your chest muscle workout. Start by sitting on the bench and grabbing the handles in front of you. Extend your arms forward while you are seated. Keep the elbows straight while you are doing the exercise and squeeze your pecs.. The weight will pull your arms back in toward your chest. The pecs will be torn providing them with the opportunity to be repaired and grow larger.

Cable Crossovers build chest muscle easily. On the machine grab the handles of the upper cable station. Make sure your elbows are slightly bent and you have one foot forward for balance. Bring the handles toward your waist. Squeeze the chest and bend forward and allow the weight to pull you back.

The bench press is a favorite chest muscle building exercise and you can target the muscles that you want by choosing the grip. You can use a wide grip or a close grip.

Decline bench presses also build chest muscle. If you move your grip closer it will stress your pecs. Dumbbell Flyes and be done on a flat bend and incline bench and a decline bench. Really squeeze your pecs together to get the best results. This exercise really isolates the pecs.

The chest muscles can also be built up with dips. The dip will work on the lower part of the pectoral muscles. There are some variations of the dip that can be done to work on different parts of your muscles.

Stretching is an important part of your workout so don't forget to stretch your muscles before you workout. Injuries will occur if you do not pay attention to your stretching and properly warm up your muscles. To stretch properly, stand in your doorway with your hands on either side of the door frame. Let your body fall forward and hold the movement. There are a wide variety of stretching exercises that you can do before you begin your work on your pectoral muscles. The rest of your body should be stretched as well.

Breath while you are doing your exercises. Never hold your breath while you are working your muscles. You should make sure that you exhale while you are lifting the weight and inhale on the rest. These are just a few of the chest building exercises that you can do for your pectoral muscles. Build a routine that you enjoy and stick with it and before you know it, you will have great pecs.
